Our History

Throughout our 60+ years, The Sherick has been home to hundreds of women. Tucked away in the heart of Lubbock, this hidden jewel has provided immaculate facilities, beautiful surroundings, independent living and a legacy of care and service.

It all started with a frugal rancher named Ida Mae Sherick Oldham. She was a smart businesswoman with a caring heart and a vision. At her direction, provisions were made for a retirement home for women to be built in Lubbock, Texas. In 1959, construction began on the A.C. Sherick Memorial Home.

The Sherick has grown over the years, beginning with only 18 resident rooms. After several additions and renovations, there are currently 31 rooms available. Many improvements to the common areas have been carefully incorporated, keeping in mind the timeless beauty of the facility and the changing needs of our residents.

The Sherick provides a wide range of floor plan options to best suit our residents.
